The Krasnodar striker is reportedly eager to join West Ham United.

With the transfer window open, it appears that West Ham United are eager to rejuvenate their attacking options.
Diafra Sakho is closing in on a move to Crystal Palace, as reported by The Telegraph, while West Ham could let Javier Hernandez leave this month, according to Sky Sports.
One player who could be arriving at West Ham is Krasnodar’s Fedor Smolov, who, as reported by Sky Sports, wants to sign for David Moyes’ side.

If West Ham do let Sakho and Hernandez depart then it is clear that they will need to bolster their attacking resources.
Smolov will hope that he can be the answer to the problem, and the Russia international has produced some encouraging performances during his time at Krasnodar, scoring 59 goals in 90 appearances in total.

However, although Smolov is a talented player, he would surely require a period of adaptation if he was to make the switch to the Premier League, and, in any case, there is little evidence to suggest that he is a superior option to Hernandez.
While Hernandez has only scored four goals in the Premier League this season, he was hugely impressive for his previous club Bayer Leverkusen as he found the net 39 times in 76 games.
Should Smolov sign for West Ham he could well face similar problems to Hernandez in terms of finding it difficult to adapt to the team’s style of play, and it may be more beneficial for Moyes to seek to bring in a different striker.
