Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have appointed Steven Gerrard as the Gers’ manager, while his former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been at Celtic since 2016.

Liverpool legend Gerrard has been appointed as the Rangers manager and will take charge of the Gers’ first team from next month.
The former England international midfielder is one of the greatest players in the history of the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Rodgers has been in charge of Celtic since the summer of 2016 and is on the verge of guiding the Hoops to their second successive domestic treble.
Rodgers almost guided Liverpool to the Premier League title during the 2013-14 season and worked with Gerrard at Anfield.
Former Rangers striker Gordon Smith believes that new Ibrox manager Gerrard is a bigger name than Celtic boss Rodgers.

Smith told The Scottish Sun: “Steven Gerrard is a bigger name in English football than even Brendan Rodgers. Steven is an English legend.
“Brendan has more managerial experience. But Steven is a big, big name in the game, without doubt.”

Steven Gerrard v Brendan Rodgers battle
Rodgers and Gerrard worked together at Liverpool, and their battle next season promises to be very interesting.
Celtic will start the season as favourites to win the domestic treble, but Gerrard will be looking to close the gap between Rangers and the Hoops.
