Emile Smith Rowe has stated that it’s important ‘I keep my head down’ after missing out on England’s latest squad, despite scoring for Arsenal again, as he told Sky Sports.
The 21-year-old scored the only goal of the game on Sunday, as Arsenal recorded a 1-0 win against Watford in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium.
For the third Premier League match in a row, Smith Rowe was on the scoresheet for his side.
Yet, Gareth Southgate decided to leave him out of his England squad on Thursday, despite his blistering form for the Gunners.
Smith Rowe was asked about that snub after scoring for his club again today and he issued this honest response.
“It is important I just keep my head down and keep working hard,” said Smith Rowe. “I am happy whoever I get called up for.”

In truth, whilst Arsenal fans will be disappointed that their player isn’t getting recognised on the international stage, they need to take the positives.
And one of them is the fact that he won’t be playing in the big spotlight and high-intensity bubble of the senior side, but for the U21’s.
In the meantime, Arsenal will be dreaming of Champions League football, which was a distant memory when they were sitting bottom of the league.
With Smith Rowe in his current form, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t get over that line, because it’s not like the teams around them are running away with that fourth spot.
