There’s a wee bit of confusion over the future of Arsenal-linked Houssem Aouar.
It goes without saying that the Gunners were heavily linked with a move to sign the Lyon playmaker last summer but, after two bids, failed to do a deal.
That being said, Aouar is back on Arsenal’s radar this time around and according to le10sport, have made a £17 million bid.
This comes on the back of a report from GFFN that the 23-year-old midfielder skipped five days of the Ligue 1 club’s pre-season preparations in what was linked to transfer reasons.
But the man himself has uploaded a photo of himself at the club’s training ground on Twitter to ease speculation of any rift between him and Lyon.

Do Arsenal need him?
In a word, yes.
In fact, Mikel Arteta and Edu need him more now than they did last summer, after their failed bids to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
Where Arsenal struggled last season was scoring goals.
And although Aouar won’t directly rip the Premier League up in that regard, he is a creative player who can feed the likes of Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Remember, Kieran Tierney was the Gunners’ most creative player for much of last season – and he’s a defender.
That about sums up the problem at Arsenal last term, underlining the need for a playmaker.
