Well, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur is off the mark at the World Cup.
The 29-year-old Spurs hitman opened his account in Qatar this time around with the third goal in England’s 3-0 victory over Senegal on Sunday, setting up a quarter-final encounter with France on Saturday.
Prior to this game, the Three Lions had scored nine in their first three World Cup outings and somewhat bizarrely, the Tottenham marksman, one of the sport’s finest number nines, hadn’t contributed any.
He certainly made sure of his goal on Sunday, hammering the ball past Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy from relatively close range.
And former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman detected a lot of frustration in the way in which Kane slammed the ball home.
He told Seaman Says on Spotify: “It was brilliant to see Harry scoring. You could see the frustration in his finish. Sometimes he’ll place it or sidefoot it, but he absolutely smashed it past Mendy and there was a lot of frustration went into that strike.”

Kane is still four goals behind Kylian Mbappe of France, who leads the way in the Golden Boot race with five.
And he could – and possibly will – add to his tally against the Three Lions this weekend.
The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is a phenom right now, but Kane won’t be particularly bothered if he doesn’t score another World Cup goal for the rest of his career if the Tottenham man can ultimately help his country win the competition.
