Bailey Peacock-Farrell was among the Leeds United lads who reacted to Paudie O’Connor’s departure.

Leeds United have sold Paudie O’Connor to League Two outfit Bradford City.

The 21-year-old impressed on loan with the Valley Parade side during the second half of last season and now the Bantams have made it permanent.

O’Connor began his career in English football with Leeds and made four Championship appearances under Paul Heckingbottom toward the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

He rose through the ranks with Tom Pearce and Bailey Peacock-Farrell, both of whom have sent messages to the Irish centre-back on Twitter since his departure:

It was originally reported by Football League World that it would be a loan, but City confirmed that it was a three-year deal.

A permanent move made a lot more sense for Leeds and indeed the player, who was only contracted until next summer and, given that it’s League Two, it would’ve been ever so hard for him to earn a new deal by virtue of the lower standard.

He joined the Elland Road club from Limerick back in 2017.
