Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Alisson Becker has been full of praise for Thiago after his wonderful goal against Porto.
Thiago may have scored one of the goals of the season on Wednesday, but his performance against Porto was about so much more than just his volley.
The Spaniard, in usual fashion, ran the show in the middle of the park, he barely put a foot wrong all evening and he played with so much finesse and intelligence.
Alisson was blown away by Thiago against Porto and he’s been waxing-lyrical about the midfielder.

Alisson had nothing but good things to say about Thiago.
“Thiago, what a player! He shows it tonight as well, not only in the goal but the way he plays – he’s a really confident player who contributes a lot in our team in the building up and on the offensive phase,” Alisson said.
“He’s an aggressive player in the good sense of the word. Always helping defensively as well. A smart player, always good positioning. So it’s really good to have him on my side.”
Genius
Alisson describes Thiago as a smart player, but we’re going to go one step further and label him as an absolute genius.
There have been very few players in football history who see the game in the way Thiago does, and there are even fewer who can pull off some of the tricks the Spaniard can.
The midfielder is one of the best players on the planet and Liverpool are extraordinarily lucky to have him.
