Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone might be the missing piece from Newcastle’s midfield for the upcoming season.
As tends to happen with relegated clubs, Hull City’s best players are being cherry picked by teams with bigger wallets. Tom Huddlestone might not be the most exciting option from the current Tigers squad, but he was undoubtedly one of Hull’s best players last season.
The England international, still just 30, has been linked with a cut-price move to Derby, Birmingham and Newcastle. But, if given the opportunity, the former Tottenham midfielder should choose the Premier League side over the Championship duo without batting an eyelid.

Rafa Benitez recently confessed his frustration to Newcastle’s shortcomings in the transfer window so far.
Interestingly, as reported by the Sun, a clause in Huddlestone’s contract would allow him to leave the KCOM Stadium for just £2million.
That for an England international with more than 200 appearances (with 30 or more appearances in each of the last four seasons) under his belt in the Premier League is an absolute bargain.
What is more, he brings something that the current Newcastle squad lacks.
Jack Colback, Jonjo Shelvy and Mohamed Diamé are all good midfielders in their own right, but none possess the experience, composure and the defensive consistency needed for aiming for a mid-table finish in their first year back in the top flight.

Rafa Benitez has historically liked playing with a three in midfield (though he preferred a 4-4-1-1 formation last year). A technically gifted anchorman beside the duo of Shelvy and Diame/Colback could beckon a change in formation and hopefully (for Newcastle fans) better results than their last season in the Premier League.
Add that thunderous shot, and this has the makings of the bargain of the season.
