Tottenham have reportedly made a move for Spain international Denis Suarez, according to Spanish outlet Sport. The report suggests, that Spurs along with Napoli made a move for the Barcelona man, but the 23-year-old has rejected the offers to stay at Barcelona.
The Spain U-21 international moved back to Barcelona last season from Villarreal after Barcelona activated a buy-back clause in his contract. However, the former Sevilla man has since struggled to establish himself in the Barcelona midfield and can have his chances further limited with the arrival of new signing Paulinho.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a long term admirer of the former Manchester City man and has tried to sign him from Villarreal before he eventually moved to Nou Camo during the summer transfer window last season (as reported by the IBT).
Tottenham are undoubtedly in the market for a midfielder, but most likely for someone with a different set of skills from what Denis Suarez provides. Although prodigiously talented, he is similar to Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

The report also details that Suarez has a £46 million release clause, however, it doesn’t mention whether Tottenham had activated the clause. If they did, it would make for a rather interesting story for Daniel Levy naysayers.
