“Jose, Pogba, Zlatan, Rooney,” he continued full of confidence.
“Nailed on.”
The bold claim comes after Mourinho picked up silverware at the first time of asking as United beat champions Leicester City in the Community Shield at Wembley.
Convincing wins over Bournemouth away in the league opener and Southampton in their first home game have only further enhanced the excitement and anticipation since.
Neighbours Manchester City have started superbly too, though. On this evidence, it’s not surprising to see the two Manchester sides favourites for the title.
The derby is the first match after the international break, which could prove a crucial showdown in the race for top already.
