The German shared that they were ‘slightly concerned’ with Jones because he was in ‘some pain’ in the first half, but Klopp hailed the ‘outstanding’ Liverpool talent for playing through that.
Jones ended up playing the entire match for Liverpool and ensured the 2000 fans inside Anfield enjoyed a quite special return.
If there has been one big positive which has come out of Liverpool’s recent injury problems then it’s the performances of Williams and Jones, who impressed their manager last night.
“Neco played a top game,” said Klopp. “Curtis played an outstanding game. He felt some pain here in the first half already and we were slightly concerned. But he played through the pain.
“With the atmosphere and the people back in the stadium, it was a perfect night.”

It just goes to show the faith Klopp has in Jones when he is comfortable in the attack-minded technician playing in his midfield.
