Roy Keane has stated that Arsenal have a ‘slightly better’ squad’ than Tottenham Hotspur, as he told Sky Sports PL (23/01/22 at 7:20 pm).
The former midfielder added that Tottenham are ‘lacking’ the squad depth that the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have in their locker.
On Sunday, Spurs suffered their first Premier League defeat under Antonio Conte when they were eased aside by Chelsea.
It was a blow for the Italian and his quest to finish in the Champions League places at the end of the season.
Spurs are sitting seventh in the Premier League table, level with sixth-placed Arsenal, with a game in hand and two points behind fourth-placed, Manchester United, with a further two games in hand.
The January transfer window could be crucial in the race to finish fourth and the depth in quality the above clubs can bring in.
Keane shared his thoughts on Tottenham’s squad and the difference between the rest, including Arsenal being ‘better’, which their fans will love.
“You make the point about the squad,” said Keane. “Manchester United, under pressure (against West Ham), they need the points and you look at the option the manager has to come off the bench.
“Rashford, Cavani and Martial. Okay, Martial has had his ups and downs. But they are still good options for the manager.
“You look at Conte, as good as he is. He is probably looking over his shoulder (in the dugout) and going ‘this squad, I don’t think are good enough to get into the top four’.
“They are lacking strength in depth that Man United have got. West Ham are doing well. Arsenal probably have a slightly better squad. Their (Spurs) starting players are decent enough. But it’s not enough.”

There is talk about Spurs possibly bringing Adama Traore to the club from Wolves before the January transfer window slams shut, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
But that’s not the only area of the pitch Spurs need to strengthen because they need more bite and spark in the middle of the park.
Whilst that is what Spurs need, their neighbours need to bring in a striker before the end of the month.
Their goalless draw at home to Burnley on Sunday was proof that action is needed because Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah aren’t going to drive them to where they want to go.
