Slaven Bilic’s master plan to keep West Ham United moving forwards last season looks like it might finally come together… at Marseille.
The Hammers are desperate to sign two strikers this summer but like last year have struggled to get any deals over the line so far.
Slaven Bilic has already missed out on Henry Onyekuru while Leicester City are now favourites to land another target Kelechi Iheanacho.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is another forward Bilic is keen on but he has insisted his future is at Arsenal this week.
Last summer the East Londoners failed to lure new Gunners signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and Carlos Bacca from AC Milan.

The Hammers remain interested in Batshuayi should he be made available by Chelsea while Milan’s signings of Andre Silva and Fabio Borini have pointed to a summer exit for Bacca.
But the Colombian striker will not be coming to West Ham according to reports from French radio station RMC who claim he has told Marseille he wants to join them.
Bacca, 30, has informed Marseille representatives that he is very interested in their project, reports RMC.
The forward has been transfer listed by the new regime at AC Milan, and hopes to find a new club as soon as possible.
Marseille are said to be weighing up their options but if they do push ahead with a deal, it will finally see Bacca paired with former Hammers hero Dimitri Payet.

It will prove to be a rather galling twist for Hammers fans as that was Bilic’s master plan for West Ham last season as the club aimed to make a splash in their debut campaign at the Olympic Stadium.
Instead Payet forced a return to France for a paltry £25million by today’s money while Bacca picked up splinters on the Milan bench as the Hammers struggled throughout the season before managing an 11th place finish in the Premier League.
