Ahead of West Ham’s London derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Slaven Bilic is confident that his side can match the title challengers.

This has been a very frustrating campaign for Bilic and the Hammers. After an impressive last season, everyone expected them to improve further, but they’ve failed to maintain the high standards this time around.

A string of good results in recent games have taken them out of the relegation battle, but speculation is rife about Bilic’s long term future at the club.

When asked to comment on his future, Bilic didn’t sound positive, rather chose to ignore it by saying the time is not right to discuss such issues.

“It’s not the time to talk about my situation. It’s the time to talk about the club. I’m very calm and focused on the game,” Bilic said, as quoted by BBC Sport.

According to reports from The Guardian, Bilic’s future is hanging by a thread, and the Croatian has two matches to turn the tide.

His future at the club will be determined by how his team performs against Tottenham on Friday night, and Liverpool on Sunday next week in the final two matches of the season.

West Ham hierarchy is unimpressed with how Bilic’s team has been routinely outplayed by the leading sides.

Bilic has also drawn himself away from transfer speculations, and refused to give an update on his plans (if he stays at all) for the summer window.

“It’s not the time to talk about transfers. We are talking about targets with the staff and the board, but not in public,” he added.
