The right back position at West Ham United has been a problem for years but could a Manchester United outcast be the answer.

The Hammers have consistently failed to recruit a player of sufficient quality and experience to make the position their own long term.
Carl Jenkinson showed bags of promise during his season long loan from Arsenal under Sam Allardyce.
But when it was renewed for a second season last term the Gunner struggled under Slaven Bilic and suffered a season ending knee injury.
The promising Sam Byram was signed from Leeds United but was dipped in and out of the side by Bilic who preferred to use midfielders Havard Nordtveit and Cheikhou Kouyate there instead.
Recently Byram has proved he has what it takes to perform at Premier League level but regardless the Hammers will want to bring in better and need competition for places.
So Bilic could do a lot worse than compete with AC Milan to sign Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian, who looks set to leave this summer according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Darmian has cast doubt on his Red Devils future after being rarely used by Jose Mourinho this season but he is up against the most consistent performer in the top flight in Antonio Valencia.
The former Torino right back and Italian international could team up with compatriot Angelo Ogbonna at the London Stadium.
At 28 Darmian has his best years ahead of him and while he remains coy on his future, he intimated a move could be in the offing this summer.

“I wouldn’t know what to say right now [about the future],” Darmian told Tuttomercatoweb.
“The campaign isn’t over yet and I am really concentrated on this final rush. I cannot predict my future.
“We all know that in this profession you can be somewhere one day and in a completely different place the next, but it would be inopportune to discuss it now.
“I am focused on getting the best with Manchester United, then at the right time we’ll evaluate the situation.”
