West Ham United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the London Stadium in the Premier League on Friday night.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic wrote his regular Monday column for the club’s official website, and explained how he is hoping that Andy Carroll will be fit for Friday’s visit of Spurs, admitting that he will be very disappointed if he is unavailable for selection.
The 28-year-old has once again endured a stop-start campaign, with a succession of various different injuries hindering his ability to play on a consistent basis, and West Ham have really missed him.
He offers a fantastic focal point for the Hammers’ attack, and is equally effective from both defensive and offensive set-pieces.
Bilic discussed Carroll’s importance to his side, when writing his regular column for WHUFC.com, suggesting that he will not be happy if he is not ready for Friday night, when Mauricio Pochettino’s in-form Tottenham side roll into town:
“I will be very disappointed if he is not involved in our next game. It looked like he would be 50-50 for the Everton game, but it wasn’t, so hopefully he’s going to make it to be involved against Tottenham. He won’t be available for 90 minutes, but you don’t need to play the whole game to be effective.”

Friday night’s game is a hugely important one for both sides, with the Lilywhites needing a win to keep the pressure up on league leaders Chelsea, whilst Bilic’s side need all three points to mathematically ensure their survival.
As is always the case for clashes between the two London rivals, the atmosphere will be red-hot, and an enthralling game of football should be on the cards.
Whether Andy Carroll will take part in it though, remain to be seen.
