West Ham United are braced for departures between now and the end of the transfer window.

Slaven Bilic has told West Ham United’s official website that he expects some players at the London Stadium to start realising they are no longer part of his first-team plans soon.

West Ham have brought in four new players this summer, with Bilic’s options now looking much stronger.

The Hammers have added Javier Hernandez, Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and Marko Arnautovic.

And all four could go straight into West Ham’s first-team for next season.

Bilic admits that he is already starting to finalise what his strongest side will be next term.

And the Croatian has warned that some players may ask to leave the Hammers, if they find out they are no longer guaranteed of a starting place.

“All the players are happy now,” Bilic said. “It’s a pre-season and it’s the same in every club – they train brilliantly and all that and they are all hoping they are going to play and be starters in our team.

“Then, of course, only eleven or maybe 14 will think ‘I’m there’ probably, almost definitely, some players will notice that they are not regulars in the beginning of the season, so maybe a few of them will not be happy and some of them will ask for a move, so we’ve got to be ready for that.”

West Ham are under pressure to improve this time around, after what was a disappointing campaign last year.

The Hammers could only finish in a mid-table spot, after struggling to find a consistent run of form during the 2016/17 campaign.

West Ham get their Premier League season under way in two weekends’ time when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.
