West Ham United were beaten 2-0 by Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told the club’s official website that he was pleased by the manner in which his team created chances against Everton.

The Hammers travelled to Goodison Park on Sunday looking to make it three consecutive wins in the Premier League.

They failed to do that, though, as goals from Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley saw the home side leave with all three points.

In truth, it was a tough result for Slaven Bilic’s team to stomach given the manner in which they had dominated for periods in the first half.

There were some positives for them to take despite the defeat and Bilic says he was pleased by the manner in which they created chances against the Toffees.

“We played some good football at times, we created some chances, so I am happy about that,” he told the club’s official website.

“There’s a bitter taste because we know we should have taken something from this game. I had that feeling at half-time, and it continued as the game went on.”

West Ham will now be keen to bounce back from this result and return to winning ways against 17th-placed Stoke City next weekend.

The defeat leaves West Ham sitting 16th in the table with ten points from their first ten games.

That tally means they are just three points outside of the relegation zone, with Hull City currently in 17th on seven points.

At the same time, though, they are just three points behind Southampton in ninth and they will want to take advantage of the chance to move up the table while it is so close.
