The West Ham United manager has been under intense pressure over recent weeks.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and bullishly suggested that he did not need to read the board’s recent statement regarding his future to know that his job as manager is safe, as quoted by Sky Sports.
West Ham are currently in the midst of a dreadful run of form that has seen them slip to 14th in the Premier League table, just six points clear of the drop zone, after taking only two points from their last six outings.
With speculation mounting regarding the future of the Croatian, the Hammers board felt it necessary to release a statement confirming their support for Bilic.
But the West Ham boss told reporters that he had no reason to worry before the statement was released, explaining how he has regular contact with the club’s hierarchy anyway, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“I do not have to read the papers to know my relationship with the board. I talk with the chairmen before or after every game. It’s nice to read it (their support) but I know I have the confidence of the board. I am concentrated on my job and the players. When I told you I wasn’t worried before it is the situation that I am not relieved to say ‘oh my god, they gave me confidence’. I knew that before.”
The East London outfit now face a vital pair of games in the league.
A trip to north London to take on Arsenal tomorrow night is followed by a visit from Paul Clement’s resurgent Swansea City side, and failure to win either of those matches would pile the pressure on Bilic, irrelevant of the board’s recent public backing of their manager.
