David Moyes was appointed the West Ham United manager following the departure of Slaven Bilic.

Bilic was appointed the West Ham manager in the summer of 2015 and parted company with the London club in November 2017 due to a poor run of results in the Premier League.
Former Everton and Sunderland boss Moyes was subsequently appointed the new Hammers’ boss, and the ex-Besiktas manager has revealed the discussion between the two of them.

“I’ve known him since he was at Everton, we would have chats about his striker Nikica Jelavic, who also played for Croatia,” Bilic told The Daily Mail about a phone conversation with Moyes.
“We had a relaxed chat about West Ham — why not? — but the details aren’t for the paper. To be fair, a lot of the things he said were exactly the points I would have made.”
Meanwhile, Moyes has admitted that he is still getting to know his West Ham players, and has hinted that he will make changes to the team for the EFL Cup tie next week.
The Hammers will take on Stoke City away from home at the bet365 Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham will then face London rivals Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup next Tuesday evening.

Moyes wrote in The London Evening Standard: “What makes it even trickier for me just now is the fact I’m still getting to know the players, for example who can play consecutive games and who might struggle.”
“I do believe I could make changes in other games – the League Cup quarter-final possibly – but when confidence is high it’s often easier to get out there again,” added Moyes.
West Ham’s recent results and performances have been encouraging, but they are still in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
