West Ham United were beaten 5-1 by Arsenal in their latest outing.
Slaven Bilic has told the London Evening Standard that West Ham United did hold a team meeting after their 5-1 defeat against Arsenal last weekend, but it was not a serious one.
West Ham were hammered by their London rivals in their most recent outing, in a match where they looked miles off the pace.
An Alexis Sanchez hat-trick and goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain condemned West Ham to a humiliating defeat.
The loss has caused great frustration around the London Stadium, with West Ham currently sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table.
Bilic is now the second favourite to be the next top flight manager who is sacked, but the Croatian boss insists he was calm in his approach this week.
“We did have a meeting at the beginning of the week, but it was not a big one,” Bilic said. “It wasn’t a full post-mortem kind of meeting — we’ve had a few of them already this season — but we did get together on the pitch just before training.”
West Ham are current positioned just one point above the drop zone, and there are concerns that they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
The Hammers’ fixture list is not doing them any favours either, as they face Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.
Liverpool have scored more goals than any other Premier League side this season, and West Ham will have to be much more solid defensively on Merseyside, otherwise they could be on the end of another heavy defeat.
