West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been quoted as saying by the club’s official website that the team need the fans’ support this weekend.

The Hammers will take on Southampton at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The London outfit will head into the match against the Saints on the back of a 1-0 victory over Accrington Stanley at home in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Bilic has been quoted as saying by West Ham’s official website that he wants the fans to give their full support to the team against Southampton.

“I want the fans to be behind us on Sunday and we need their support more than ever,” West Ham’s official website quotes Bilic as saying. “They will play a big part in this game.

“We need them every time but we need them now to help us get out of this situation. Since I have been here they have always been fantastic with their support and getting behind the team and I have no doubts they will be very positive once again.”

West Ham may have won against Accrington, but their performances and results so far this campaign have been far from impressive.

The Hammers are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just three points from five matches.

The London outfit are aiming to finish in the top six of the league table this season, but it is now possible that they may face a struggle to end up in the top 10.

Southampton currently find themselves 14th in the Premier League table with five points from as many matches.
