West Ham boss Slaven Bilic told the club website he was disappointed with his team’s crossing in the final stages against Tottenham.

The Hammers had battled back from three goals down and pushed Spurs close, almost claiming a draw in a 3-2 defeat.

Bilic said that he felt if his team had supplied better deliveries into the box it would have made the difference, arguing that they missed a great opportunity.

He said that he explained this to his players in their post match discussion.

Bilic said: “I spoke to the lads and we can talk about the quality of crosses after the red card for Aurier when we had the advantage down the wings.

“We did one brilliant cross and it was the goal from Cheikhou, but we were in those positions ten times.”

West Ham’s crossing accuracy this season is 25 per cent, eighth best in the Premier League, but at the weekend it dipped to 19 per cent.

Spurs were under real pressure late on and Bilic was right that they failed to carve out enough clear cut opportunities.

They had really left themselves with too much to do after conceding three goals in the first hour, and if it was not for Serge Aurier’s red card, Tottenham likely would have closed the game out easily.
