Rafael Benitez and Eddie Howe have been linked with the West Ham United managerial job.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has written in The London Evening Standard that he can do nothing about speculation over his job.
Bilic has come under pressure this season due to the team’s disappointing performances and results in the Premier League.
The Hammers are 17th in the league table at the moment with just 11 points from 12 matches.
The London outfit are only a point above the relegation zone and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
There has been speculation over the future of Bilic, with The Telegraph reporting earlier this week that West Ham chiefs have started to consider a replacement.
It has been reported that Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez and Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe are among the names on the West Ham chiefs’ list.
“Following the 3-2 defeat at White Hart Lane, there has been speculation about my future,” Bilic wrote in The London Evening Standard. “I understand that will happen.
“I am not a newcomer to this game and neither am I stupid. I know you are judged on the table and the number of points you have. There is nothing I can do about that except work hard and look for us to win games.”
Bilic is a very good manager, but there can be no doubt that West Ham are severely underperforming and underachieving at the moment.
The Hammers will return to action on Sunday evening when they take on Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
