Andre Ayew was injured on his West Ham United debut.
Slaven Bilic has told West Ham United’s official site that Andre Ayew will be back much sooner than expected.
Ayew picked up a thigh problem on his debut for West Ham last month, and has not appeared since.
It was initially feared that the Ghanian was set to be out for a lengthy period of time, but Bilic has confirmed that the forward is making good progress, alongside West Ham’s other three absentees – Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Aaron Cresswell.
“Andy is much better now and has started running now. He will not be available for West Brom but he is improving big time and very soon we will have a full squad,” he said.
“Sakho and Cresswell will be back soon. Aaron is sprinting already and Ayew will be back sooner than what was expected.”
Ayew’s return will be a boost for West Ham, as it will boost the quality of their attacking line-up.
If West Ham are also able to get Cresswell, Sakho and Carroll back to fitness their squad will start to look much stronger, as they aim to get their season back on track.
West Ham have started the new campaign slowly, and have only won once in the Premier League.
West Ham are next in action against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns tomorrow.
