West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has been ruled out for up to eight weeks.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Hammers boss Slaven Bilic shared some unfortunate news regarding the fitness of Diafra Sakho, who he says has suffered a major setback during his recovery from another injury, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The Senegal international has endured a challenging season thus far, after coming close to joining West Bromwich Albion in the summer, and has only made two appearances for West Ham so far this season.

The news of Sakho’s lengthly absence has come at a terrible time for the club, who have been struggling to score goals as it is.
And Bilic explained just how long he expects the striker to be out of the side, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“Diafra Sakho, he has to have a back operation, and he’s going to be out for six to eight weeks. It will rule him out of the African Cup of Nations. We are talking about March before he will be back.”

Bilic will surely be looking to add another striker to his squad in January after the news regarding Sakho’s expected lengthly lay-off, along with Italian flop Simone Zaza’s expected exit from the club next month.
West Ham have more immediate concerns than potential transfers, however, with back-to-back away games against Swansea City and Leicester city on the horizon.
