West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has provided an update on injured stars Andy Carroll and Aaron Cresswell in his pre-match press conference.

The Hammers are in the midst of an injury crisis at this moment in time, with eight first team players all currently on the treatment table.

Cresswell is the biggest miss at the minute, having been ruled out for four months of the season when picking up a knee ligament injury in pre-season.

Carroll has also been absent after picking up his own knee injury in the Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu.

Both have been sorely missed and Bilic has provided an update on when Hammers fans can expect to see them and defender Winston Reid, back in the team.

“I saw reports that Andy Carroll had a setback but that is totally false, we are expecting him and Aaron Cresswell back after the break,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“Winston Reid is back in training and Alvaro Arbeloa has joined the team. The injuries are not ideal but we still have a good team.”

The Hammers boss has however provided bad news on the injury to summer signing Arthur Masuaku.

The left-back came off late in the clash with Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup in midweek, with fears he was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

And Bilic has confirmed that could be the case, saying the player will be out for as minimum of six weeks.

“Arthur Masuaku has damaged his ligaments and we will know better in one week when he will be back but it will be at least six weeks,” he added.
