The striker is yet to feature for West Ham United this season.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told the club’s official website they are hoping to have positive news on Diafra Sakho in the coming weeks.
The striker was close to leaving the club in the summer transfer window as several clubs made a move for his signature, including Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.
He ended up staying at the London Stadium but has missed the first eight games of the season through injury.

In that time the Hammers have struggled for goals, managing just nine in their first eight games of the campaign.
He is now back in training and Bilic says they are hoping for positive news about a return in the coming weeks. He told the club’s official website:
“We are hoping to have more good news with Diafra Sakho. I said last week that he is back on the pitch and this week he has been doing more and more.”
“It looks very good, touch wood and the plan next week is to let him train with the U23s.”
“I have spoken with him a few times and he is ready. He has got to perform and play well and he knows I have always rated him. I’m expecting a lot from him when he comes back.”

West Ham will certainly be hoping they can get Sakho back into their starting line-up sooner rather than later.
As already mentioned they have struggled for goals this season and with Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll both recovering from injuries too, the pressure is on Simone Zaza to get the goals.
The Italian has failed in that regard so far, going without a goal in his first eight games of the campaign.
Another option is desperately needed, at least to take the pressure off of him and the Hammers will be praying Sakho can be that man.
