The West Ham United ace was sent off after just 27 minutes against Burnley on Saturday.

Slaven Bilic applauds his fans at the end of the Premier League match between Burnley and West Ham United at Turf Moor on May 21, 2017 in Burnley, England.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic spoke to reporters during his post-match press conference, after his side’s 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday, and discussed Andy Carroll’s untimely sending off against the Clarets, which arguably cost his side all three points, as quoted by the club’s official website.

West Ham led early through Michail Antonio’s strike, but were pegged back late on, with Chris Wood equalising for the hosts after the visitors had held out for 58 minutes playing with 10 men.

Andy Carroll thanks the fans during a lap of honor after the Premier League match between West Ham United and Liverpool at London Stadium on May 14, 2017 in Stratford, England.

The east London outfit now find themselves in 15th position in the Premier League table, and will be bitterly disappointed in the knowledge that a victory against Sean Dyche’s men would have taken them up to 10th spot.

And Bilic discussed Carroll’s sending off with reporters during his post-match press conference, and opened up on whether he spoke to the 6ft 4in hitman in the aftermath of his dismissal, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

New West Ham manager Slaven Bilic looks on during the UEFA Europa League match between West Ham United and FC Lusitans at Boleyn Ground on July 2, 2015 in London, England.

“I didn’t speak with him at half-time, as I was concentrating on what to do in the game. I didn’t see the challenge [from Tarkowski which left Carroll complaining moments before his bookings]. I only saw his couple of bookings. It is extremely frustrating. What can I do? He is a very brave player and not a lazy player, he is a player who is committing himself and that’s his virtue and is a big part of his game. For the second booking, he wants to win all the balls in his space and it was just an unbelievably bad decision to even go there.”

Next up for the Hammers is Brighton and Hove Albion at home in the Premier League on Friday night, and they will be without the services of Carroll, as they look to give their fans something to shout about, and begin their ascent up the table.
