Bilic is looking to turn around a very poor start to the season from West Ham.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has written in the London Evening Standard that he is worried about the club’s poor start to the season.

The Hammers currently sit in the bottom three having won just the one game from their opening six games – and they have conceded the most goals in the division, with 11 out of the 16 conceded coming in the last three games.

The West Ham boss has said that the side needs to start showing some improvement immediately in order to arrest what has become a very worrying run of form.

Bilic wrote in his Evening Standard column: “The reason why I’m saying now the credit has run out is to mobilise the players, put them on red alert if you like. There’s no more: “We’re going to do it next week.”

“It has to be now.

“That’s the message I want to get across. I’m not suggesting that everyone will lose their place in the team but I am no longer saying: “I’m not worried, it will come.” I am worried.

“What I am saying is: “It’s time to mobilise yourselves. Do it — and do it now. Don’t be too casual, too calm.”

West Ham come up against Premier League newboys Middlesbrough at the weekend at the London Stadium, and if they were to lose then alarm bells would be ringing a lot louder than they have been in recent weeks.

On paper, many would suggest that West Ham should win this game, but at the very least they need to stop the rot in order to try and get back on track this season.

Bilic’s comments do show an urgency to get the side back on the right track following this very difficult period.

However, given that confidence is low and there are other issues that are surrounding the club – including the stadium move having some teething problems to say the least – it could be another tricky afternoon for Bilic’s side, and any win would be hard fought.
