West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has insisted to the Independent they will not be making wholesale changes following the defeat to Watford.

Walter Mazzarri’s side beat the Hammers on Saturday in an action-packed game of football.

The home side had led 2-0 courtesy of two goals from Michail Antonio and appeared to be cruising to all three points.

However, the Hornets hit back and took advantage of some slack defending to level the scores before the break and then go on to secure a 4-2 victory.

Bilic’s side were heavily criticised after the result, with many feeling they took their foot off the gas.

Some feel changes are needed, but the West Ham boss insists that will not be the case.

“I don’t think we have to find a balance,” he told the Independent.

“I’m happy with the players’ character and belief and everything, so don’t talk about a lack of character. We aren’t going to change everything that brought us into this position.”

While Bilic is insisting there will not be wholesale changes in his side after this latest defeat there is no denying that they are needed.

The Hammers have looked off the pace at the beginning of this campaign, with the swagger they showed last season sorely missing, especially at the London Stadium.

That has left them in 17th place with just three points from four games and perhaps changes are needed to turn things around.
