West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Premier League on Friday evening.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told The Mirror that he would not be surprised if Tottenham Hotspur struggle at the Wembley Stadium next season.
Tottenham will leave White Hart Lane at the end of the 2016-17 campaign and will play their home matches at Wembley in London next season.
The Hammers moved to the London Stadium this term after leaving the Boleyn Ground at the end of the 2015-16 season.
West Ham have struggled to adapt to their new home, losing as many as nine matches and winning only four games in the Premier League so far this season.
Manager Bilic has suggested that Tottenham could have similar problems at the Wembley Stadium in London next season.
“I don’t know if Tottenham will have the same problems as us when they move into their new stadium, but I wouldn’t be surprised,” Bilic told The Mirror.
“It’s going to be very hard for them to replicate the atmosphere at White Hart Lane, where everything is so close to the stands.
“They have already felt it at Wembley in the Champions League. Although the pitch may be the same, it is a totally different perception – and perception is the key, not the reality, because the perception is, ‘I’m far away from everything!’”
Tottenham played their Champions League games at the Wembley Stadium this season and struggled; they could not get past the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition.
While fans will be worried about how Spurs will play in their new surroundings, the players have to do their best and have to adapt to playing at Wembley.
