West Ham United are due to take on West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

Slaven Bilic has told West Ham United’s official website that he will not make wholesale changes to his side, despite a crushing defeat to Watford in their last match.

West Ham were beaten 4-2 by Watford in front of their own fans, in what was a hugely frustrating match.

The Hammers defence looked all at sea throughout the contest, but Bilic does not put the blame for the defeat on the back four.

“We can make a couple of changes but with every goal you are always going to say it is always the defenders who are to blame for the goals,” he said, ahead of West Ham’s match with West Bromwich Albion.

“This is a game of mistakes but we have to defend better and defend like we did this season against Bournemouth and the way we defended last season.”

If West Ham do make changes to the defence, Alvaro Arbeloa is one player who could come in.

Arbeloa is yet to make his Hammers debut, but Bilic insists the experienced defender is at the London Stadium to play.

“Alvaro has more experience and we brought him here to play. He is not here to be on the coaching staff,” the Croatian boss added. “We needed one more player there and he is available. He has quality.

“We are happy to have him here. But we also have Sam Byram and he is part of the team. He is a young player who needs the team around him to play well and then he can flourish.”

West Ham are under pressure to beat West Brom, after what has been a poor start to the season.

The Hammers are down in 17th place in the Premier League table as things stand, and will be determined to get back on track by winning at the weekend.
