West Ham United were beaten 4-2 by Watford in their last fixture.
Slaven Bilic has admitted to the London Evening Standard that he did not want to let rip at his West Ham United side during their defeat to Watford, as he feared damaging their already fragile confidence.
West Ham have started the new campaign poorly, and their deficiencies were shown up by Watford yesterday.
The Hammers started strongly against the Hornets, and a brace from Michail Antonio had put them into a 2-0 lead.
However, Watford pulled a goal back just before the break and the Hammers completely collapsed in the second half.
West Ham’s defence went awol, with Watford going on to claim a comprehensive 4-2 victory in the contest.
And Bilic said: “It was way too easy. If we defend like this we aren’t going to win too many games because we scored enough and created enough.
“I am very angry. I am, I am. At half-time some of the players were already pale, so I didn’t want to give them more criticism.”
West Ham have now lost two home games this term, after making a worrying start in their new stadium.
The Hammers are stuck down in 17th place in the Premier League standings, and they are already coming under pressure to improve.
West Ham’s next match comes against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
