West Ham United are in desperate need of more pace next season and Slaven Bilic could solve it with a free transfer from Manchester City.

The Hammers already have one eye on the summer window given their comfortable position in the Premier League.

Slaven Bilic has already been heavily linked with moves for the likes of Joe Hart, Daniel Sturridge and Bacary Sagna.

His side has failed to live up to lofty expectations this season after a stunning farewell campaign at the Boleyn Ground.

A bigger pitch and lack of real athletes possessing the kind of pace needed to thrive in the Premier League have been highlighted as reasons behind West Ham’s disappointing season.

And Bilic could solve one of those problems for free if he gets in early for Manchester City winger Jesus Navas who is available on a Bosman this summer.

Navas has been unable to cement his place in Pep Guardiola’s side and the Spaniard told ESPN he is yet to make a decision on his future.

The 31-year-old who is nicknamed Speedy Gonzalez with a nod to his middle name and frightening pace, would give Bilic a different option out wide and bring plenty of experience with him too.

The player might relish a move to London and the prospect of playing at the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium while the move would also appeal to Hammers co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold given their penchant for a free transfer.

Navas has featured just 14 times in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals and would link up with fellow Spaniard Pedro Obiang should he join the East Londoners.
