But Bilic does not want to risk playing Carroll in the tie, and has confirmed that he will not feature.
Bilic said: “We have to manage him. He looks good and fit, hopefully he will last for ages now without an injury, touch wood. He isn’t going to play tomorrow.”
If Carroll can stay fit for West Ham, it will be a major boost for Bilic’s side.
There was an expectation that Carroll and Javier Hernandez could work well in tandem, but Bilic is yet to test the pair as a two to date.
Hernandez has generally been played out wide when Carroll has started, much to some West Ham supporters’ frustrations.
Whether Hernandez will be utilised as an out-an-out striker, in Carroll’s absence, this evening remains to be seen.
