Edimilson Fernandes has made five appearances for West Ham United so far.

Slaven Bilic has told the London Evening Standard that no West Ham United player deserves more praise than Edimilson Fernandes.

Fernandes was a relative unknown when he was brought to West Ham from FC Sion during the summer transfer window.

However, the 20-year-old has wasted no time making a name for himself at the London Stadium.

Fernandes has impressed whenever he has been given an opportunity in the Hammers’ first-team, and he scored his first goal for the club in Bilic’s side’s latest match against Chelsea.

And Bilic said: “Every player in our team deserves a lot of praise — none more so than Edimilson Fernandes.

“He is very talented, always positive and not afraid of anything. He’s just enjoying his game and taking his opportunity. We were tracking him a long time and, playing for Sion in the Swiss league, he wasn’t a big target for Premier League clubs.

“We signed him more for the future rather than to make an immediate impact but from the first day here he has impressed with his first touch, his physique, his recovery, everything is spot on. Basically he has forced us to play him.”

Fernandes has now made five appearances for West Ham, and he appears to have secured his place in their first-team.

The Swiss midfielder’s strong form has helped West Ham win their last three matches, as they start to climb up the Premier League table.

Fernandes looks likely to start in West Ham’s next match, which comes against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
