Aston Villa fans have been left frustrated with Dean Smith not providing Keinan Davis with any minutes on the pitch following their 2-1 defeat at Anfield.
Last week, the 23-year-old came off the bench and made a game-changing impact, alongside Trezeguet, as Villa recorded a 3-1 win against Fulham.
And after Villa’s pretty lacklustre and abject first-half display on Merseyside, many supporters wanted to see the introduction of Davis, at some point.
Smith opted to bring on Anwar El Ghazi, Ross Barkley and Jacob Ramsey instead of the hard-hitting centre-forward.
Given the impact Davis had last week, Villa fans are perplexed as to why he wasn’t provided with another opportunity.
Barkley, who has been bang out of form since the turn of the year, was the one who was first brought on, which is frustrating given that Davis has done more than the Chelsea loanee even though he has spent less time on the field.
Villa’s next stop is a visit of the soon-to-be Premier League champions, Manchester City, and it would be pretty brave for Smith to play two up top against Pep Guardiola’s men.
But then again, why not? Villa aren’t in any sort of trouble and, as things stand, are heading towards a top-ten finish.
