Ben Davies was brilliant for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday…..again.

Ben Davies is getting praise from Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter – and rightly so.
The Welsh left-back delivered a peach of a cross for Harry Kane to nod home in Saturday’s 1-0 win over North London rivals Arsenal.
Regardless of that assist, though, Davies was outstanding yet again in all areas and he is certainly developing into a truly brilliant player for Tottenham.

There was a time not too long ago when Spurs supporters recoiled in horror over the sight of seeing him in the first XI ahead of Danny Rose.
In the return fixture, for example, they ripped into the 24-year-old for his performance as Mauricio Pochettino’s side went down 2-0 at the Emirates.
But the truth is that Davies is keeping Rose out of the side on merit now, whereas before you got the feeling that Pochettino wanted to teach his other left-back a lesson following the explosive interview he gave last summer.

Rose’s long-term future remains up in the air and you have to assume that Manchester United might make a move this summer.
But if Davies maintains this form until then, and keeps him out of the side, then losing Rose won’t look anywhere near detrimental for Tottenham as it seemed when the former Swansea man was struggling.
