West Ham United are slight favourites for the FA Cup replay with Manchester United, Paul Scholes has told BT Sport.
The two sides met in the quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon, with a wonder free kick from Dimitri Payet seeing the Hammers take the lead.
They could not hold onto it though as Antony Martial equalised to take it to a replay, in what will be the last ever FA Cup game at Upton Park.
And Scholes concedes that Slaven Bilic’s side are slight favourites for that game but a draw was the fair result.
“I still have to make West Ham slight favourites going to their place,” he told BT Sport.
“I think he [Van Gaal] was right what he said, that final little piece of quality was just missing.”
“I still thought United played alright, they controlled possession like they usually do at Old Trafford. I’m certain that the fair result was the draw.”
The replay will certainly be an interesting game with both sides arguably desperate to win the FA Cup this season.
The Hammers are keen to finish the season with an FA Cup victory, with many of their fans eyeing it as the perfect send off to Upton Park.
In contrast, Van Gaal’s side see the FA Cup as some sort of redemption for what has been another disappointing season for them.
