West Bromwich Albion held Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.

This weekend saw the return of the Premier League following the latest international break.
One of the interesting games was down at the Hawthorns, where West Bromwich Albion hosted Tottenham Hotspur.
It proved to be a tight game between the two as the visitors required a goal from Dele Alli to secure a point following Nacer Chadli’s opener.
In truth the home side were fortunate to leave with a point as a superb display from goalkeeper Ben Foster kept Spurs at bay.
Before the game, we looked at how two of their key players, Jonny Evans and Toby Alderweireld had compared in the stats so far.
The Baggies man came out on top in that comparison, so how did they compare in the game? We’ve taken a look.

As it transpires they were both level, winning in three out of eight areas a piece and drawing in the other two.
Evans was better defensively, winning more interceptions, one compared to zero, and more defensive duels, two compared to zero. He also won the ball in the defensive third more times.

Alderweireld, meanwhile, posted more ball recoveries, three compared to one, posted more accurate passes, 47 compared to eight, and had a better overall passing accuracy.
The two were level when it came to tackles won and aerial duels won, having failed to register in either regard.
