England’s Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney has taken to Twitter share his delight at England’s last gasp win over Wales at Euro 2016.
England left it until late to secure all three points against their rivals as Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge struck late on to give them a 2-1 win.
Wales had led the game 1-0 at half time after a free kick from Gareth Bale had somehow found its way past goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Roy Hodgson responded at half time, sending on Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge to try and turn the fixture around.
It proved to be a masterstroke, as Vardy secured the equaliser and Sturridge got the winning goal of the game.
England celebrated wildly after the late winner, and Rooney continued that celebration on Twitter with a simple message; “Get in.”
He was joined by Manchester United teammate Marcus Rashford in celebrating the win, while Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Dele Alli and several others all revelled in the victory.
England’s attention now turns to their final Group B game against Slovakia next week.
They will be keen to build on the win over Wales and secure themselves top spot in the group, ensuring an easier draw for the knockout stages.
