The Reds take on the Germans on Thursday evening in the Europa League.

Liverpool must be really good tactically to get a positive result against Augsburg, Kolo Toure has told the club’s official website.

The Reds take on the German side in the Europa League last 32 on Thursday evening, looking to secure a positive away result in the first leg.

An away goal or two is of the utmost importance for the side, while a clean sheet would also give them the best possible chance of progressing to the next round of the competition.

To achieve both of those things though, Toure has warned his Liverpool teammates that they must impress tactically in this evening’s first leg clash.

“We need to be really good tactically in these games with two legs,” he told liverpoolfc.com.

“The first game is very important, it’s vital, because if you score a goal away from home, or you get a clean sheet, it can be very important.

“Tactically we have to be really good and we have to be better than we have been defensively. We know that we have to play hard, be well organised, and play as a team.”

Securing a positive result in the first leg is sure to be of high priority for Jurgen Klopp’s side given when the second leg falls.

That game is scheduled just three days before their Capital One Cup final clash against Manchester City, meaning Klopp is likely to pick a second string team with that final in mind.

That makes a positive result in the first leg even more important, and Liverpool fans will be hoping they can make the game at Anfield almost redundant with a big win in Germany.
