The former Liverpool manager was confirmed as the new Celtic manager last month.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths says appointing Brendan Rodgers shows that they are a big club.
The former Liverpool boss was confirmed as the new Celtic manager last month, replacing the departing Ronny Deila.

His signing has been seen as a major coup for the Scottish champions; with it thought that they fought off competition from the Premier League to secure their new boss.
Many are expecting a raft of bigger name signings to arrive because of the Northern Irishman’s appointment, and Griffiths says his arrival shows just how big a club that they are.
“It’s great, not just for us but Scottish football as it raises the profile, with a big-name manager coming to Celtic,” he told celticfc.net.
“With the size of this club, these are the names we should be linked with. Having a manager of Brendan’s stature coming in shows how big a club this is and what kind of people we can attract.”

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of work Rodgers does in his first transfer window at the club.
The last few years have seen Celtic making a number of disappointing signings as they looked to buy cheaply and then try to potentially sell those players for a big fee in future.
That approach has seen them heavily criticised, with many believing that the current squad is not good enough as a result.
If they are to return to the Champions League, that will have to end, and it will be interesting to see how heavily the board backs Rodgers.
