The Frenchman is into the final year of his contract at Arsenal.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has told the Daily Star that he would not be surprised if Arsene Wenger signed a new deal at the club.
The Gunners boss celebrated 20 years in charge of the club this week, making him the second longest serving manager in the history of the Premier League.
He is in the final year of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and so far there have been no indications he will sign an extension.

Indeed at this moment in time it appears he will leave although Keown believes his former manager could end up continuing beyond the end of this campaign.
“It is the last year of his contract but I don’t see any change in the man,” he told the Daily Star.
“I don’t see him walking out, quite the opposite, it wouldn’t surprise me if he were to sign a new contract.”

A big factor that could see Wenger stay at the club beyond this season is the lack of top quality candidates to replace him.
At this moment in time, all of the elite level coaches in the game are currently more than settled at their current clubs.
Of course, the Gunners hierarchy may not be looking at such a candidate but it seems unlikely that is not the case.
After watching David Moyes struggle at Manchester United they will be keen to avoid a similar thing happening at their club and perhaps the lack of options could be key to Wenger staying for longer than previously expected.
