Liverpool meet Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League on Thursday.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is on fire ahead of his reunion with Borussia Dortmund this week, Emre Can has told Sport1.

The German returns to Germany on Thursday evening in the Europa League as his side meet Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals.

It will be the first time Klopp comes up against his former side since he left them last summer in what will be an emotional affair for both.

Can though, says the Reds boss is on fire and determined to ensure his new team are victorious in the game.

“The coach is simply on fire and just wants the game to finally begin. He will give everything to ensure that we win the game,” he told Sport1.

“I’ve never had such an emotional coach. When you see him on the sidelines during games, see him springing around, then you see what type of man he is – that says it all.”

“Jurgen Klopp is a great coach. Everyone who knows him knows he is a crazy coach, in the best possible way, and that will help the players.”

Aside from Klopp being reunited with Dortmund, the game is an important one for his side as it represents their best hope of Champions League football next season.

They look unlikely to make it into the top four this season as they currently sit 9th in the table and nine points behind Manchester City.

The Europa League on the other hand is very much up for grabs, with Liverpool and Dortmund arguably among the favourites to win the tournament.

Negotiating past the German side will not be easy though, as Tottenham discovered in the last round, and Klopp will need to be at his best to ensure they can take something back to Anfield for the second leg.
