Hull City manager Steve Bruce says he will need assurances from the club’s hierarchy before committing long-term, reports BBC Sport.
Hull City enjoyed play-off final success on Saturday as a super strike from Mo Diame led them to a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
It means the Tigers make an instant return to the Premier League after suffering relegation from the top flight last season.
It is Bruce’s fourth promotion overall, and his second with Hull, who will be keen to tie him down to a long-term deal.
However Bruce insists that he will need assurances from the club’s hierarchy before agreeing to any new contract.
“I’ll sit down with the owners and it’s not often you walk away from the Premier League because that is where I want to manage,” he told BBC Sport.
“I have to be given certain assurances that we are moving in the right direction.”
It will now be interesting to see how Hull approach life in the Premier League next season.
With the influx of television money, this year was arguably the best yet to make it into the top flight.
With fellow promoted sides Middlesbrough and Burnley looking likely to spend and improve their squads, Bruce will surely be looking for guarantees that he will be allowed to do the same to try to assure their survival.
