Per Mertesacker – The German World Cup winner has largely impressed in his time at the Gunners, but his lack of pace has often been exposed at the highest level and at his age, now is the time for him to drop out.
Nacho Monreal – The left back has established himself as first choice in his position at the Emirates, but is not getting younger and could be replaced by highly rated Chilwell.
Francis Coquelin – The Frenchman has been a huge hit since breaking into the first team, but there are still questions over whether he is he defensive midfielder the side needs. He could lose his place to new man Xhaka.
Olivier Giroud – Giroud impressed in the first half of this past season, but struggled in 2016. Questions still remain over whether he is world-class, and Morata would likely replace him should he arrive.
