Is there finally a shift in power in North London, or is it another false dawn?

Niall Quinn has told SkySports he believes there has finally been a shift in power in North London, and it will be confirmed at the end of the month if Tottenham beat Arsenal.

Pundits have made predictions like this for several seasons now, but this time Spurs have an advantage that is surely too difficult for Arsenal to overcome?

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently 14 points ahead of Arsenal, although the Gunners have a game in hand and can reduce the gap to 11 tonight.

Spurs play Arsenal at The Emirates at the end of April, and a win for Arsene Wenger’s side could put doubt into their rivals, but it is not a result Quinn expects.

Quinn said: “[A Spurs win] could really rubber stamp them and nail down Tottenham’s superiority over Arsenal that’s been coming”We’ve all felt it coming over the last period of time.

“If it ended Arsenal’s top four hopes, what a double whammy that would be for Spurs fans and that could very well be the case.

“Tottenham are right at it and that game against Arsenal will be a judgement day.”

Tottenham fans have seen enough false dawns and collapses before to know not to get too far ahead of themselves just yet.

Last season saw a momentous collapse as they failed to win any of their last four games, and were pipped to second spot by Arsenal.

This time around Spurs are hoping to be more savvy, while Arsenal have even more problems than a year ago.
