Peter Beagrie hails Nottingham Forest’s signing of Zach Clough from Bolton.
Late in the transfer window Nottingham Forest sealed a deal to sign highly rated Bolton striker Zach Clough, along with Ross McCormack on loan from Aston Villa.
While finances may dictate that McCormack is too expensive at the end of the season, Clough is Forest’s permanently, and could turn out to be a real steal.
His signing has been hailed by former striker and pundit Peter Beagrie, who told SkySports EFL Weekly Podcast that he was impressed by the signing of Clough.

Beagrie believes that despite the uncertainty at Forest, who do not have a permanent manager, the opportunity is a great one for Clough’s career.

He said: “Bolton have lost a player who was their star player for many a year. He is a tremendous young player, he loves football, he backs his own ability.
“He nearly went last year, and they held onto him, this is a chance for him to progress.”

Clough had been in bright form this season for Bolton in League One, and his exit is a blow to their promotion hopes.

He was their top scorer with nine goals, and has experience playing in the Championship from last season, having battle through a top campaign with Bolton sinking to relegation.
Clough is just 21 and an outstanding prospect, and whether Forest fans want to hear this or not – has fantastic resale potential one day – but the hopes will be that he can lead them to success and won’t leave to go anywhere.
